Barack Obama rules out military action against Syria: Voice of Russia

President Barack Obama says that unilateral military action by the United States against Syria would be a mistake and that?the situation in Syria is more complicated than it was in Libya, CBS News reports from Washington.

Obama said at a news conference Tuesday that the international community has not been able to muster a campaign against Syria like the one in Libya that ousted Muammar Gaddafi last year.

House of Representatives speaker John Boner earlier said that Congress deemed it premature to talk about any military strikes against Syria.

On Monday several Senators including Republicans Lindsay Graham, John McCain and Joe Lieberman, an independent, urged the White House to order air strikes against the Syrian army to force President Bashar Assad to step down.
