Question by Kortney Baker: Should i become a real estate agent?
I am moving to San Diego next year. I?ll be 18. And i want to be a real estate agent. How much would i make a year living there? What would i have to complete to get my license for real estate? Will it be difficult at my young age to sell houses? What do i need to expect and what schools are the best to choose from? I do want to go to a school for film and television. Can i go to that school and become a real estate agent? I have a lot of questions as you may see.

You need to really research what goes into being a real estate agent.
At the ripe old age of 18, and moving to a new area where I am guessing you are not going to know anyone, you are going to have one heck of a time building your client base. You do realize that unless you list and sell houses, you make nothing? You better have about a year or so of living expenses saved up to live off of while you get yourself settled and buidling relationships with clients.

Going to school to get your real estate license and school for film are two totally different things. For film, you are going to need to enroll in college. Real estate licenses only take about 6 weeks to finish the course and take the test.

Yes, I think you will find it hard as an 18 year old to get listings and make any money. You would have 2 things going against you: first, your age, second no experience, third, you probably will not have the money to advertise my house the way I need it to be advertised to sell. You also have to realize that being a successful agent is a 24/7/365 job. It isn?t a 9 to 5 existence. You would need to be available for your clients at the drop of a hat.
