Sales Management Made Simple

Some time ago, an old friend of mine, Jake, called to ask for a chat over a pint. I love Jake?s business, his sales hit ?2 million with healthy profits within 5 years; it?s a success story by any measure.?sales academy

The trouble is, he felt that he had hit a brick wall and the business was stuck at this level. He wanted to grow the company to double or more its current size, but could not figure out how. Over a beer, he asked, ?what can I do different??

As our conversation continued, it turned out that Jake was the top salesman in his own business, pulling in well over half the sales. Most of the sales made by his sales team were repeat business from Jake?s original customers. He complained that his sales people were just not performing.

So what do you think the limiting factor was in his business??sales training course

It was Jake!

You see, he was so busy making sales and doing deals that he didn?t spend the time to learn how to hire, train and manage his sales team effectively. In fact, he was so wrapped up in how good he was at selling, he thought nobody could ever be hired to become as good as him.

So while his sales people gave mediocre results, he didn?t fix the root problem, he just worked longer and harder himself. In fact, he was working longer hours than ever ? we had to put off our drink three times because he was working so late. He was running out of steam and looked tired and fed up.?sales training online

As we talked, it clicked for him ? he could suddenly see why things had gone wrong. With this awareness of his own limitations exposed, he was able to change things.

We started to put in place a series of building blocks to get his business unstuck. He had to fix a few problems first, but he was re-energised to have a plan for growth that made sense.
